Turn the light off, and you will see more.

Overnight stage…the longest one finished. It was really tough. Some tent-mates are still going toward the goal. The sun set 1hr before arriving CP5. There was less runner around, and i began afraid of the darkness of the desert. At CP5 I turned on my headlight. I could only see 1m ahead of me. I decided to run with other runners so as not to get lost. At CP6, many runners take a rest. I was really tired and felt sharp pain on my both feet. If I stayed there, it would be difficult to re-start. So I choose to go ahead. There was no runner going starting at the same timing. I just hurried up to the lights far away. I found many others to follow or go with. After CP7, no other runner at all. I made up my mind to go alone. It was difficult and scarely. But after a while, I turned off the light and found out that the moonlight enables me to see the whole desert. it was beautiful and easy to walk to the goal.
I reached the goal in 18 hrs.

Happiness of running on the sand as a joy of life.

I just finished the final stage, marathon stage so called. I was a fast walker until the stage 4. I got 4 serious mames on my feet, and it was difficult to walk in the morning. At 5km I met Kiyonaga-san, a tentmate, who was running ahead. I talked to him and decided to follow him as much as possible. Surprisingly, when I ran, I didn’t feel pain much. It was easier to run. I tried to chase a British guy and knew that running and walking be different. Today it was cool(though too cold at night!) and very confortable for run. I ran 89% of the final stage and finished at 5:50.
Tomorrow we have a charity running session for UNICEF and the total distance will be almost 250km. It was really a good experience for me. I found out the importance to have one big dream or ambitious. And to make it possible, we have to do less things: Do & think simply, have less, throw many things away.
